Nine people, including two women committed suicide in Punjab during last 24 hours while another 11 people, including four women of different ages committed suicide on August 16 in different parts of the province due to financial constraints, domestic feuds and tension, etc.

Nawaz Mai (35) a mother of seven children committed suicide by hanging herself with the roof in Fatehpur(Mailsi)after quarrelling with her husband. Perveen alias Kali (17) killed herself by taking pesticide in the absence of her parents because her betrothal broken due to some family feud in Village Naushehra (Kotla Chakar) Jalalpur pirwala.

Ahmed Bakhsh (55) committed suicide by hanging himself with a tree in Moza Lothar (Multan). He was bachelor and he spent his life at the shrines of spiritual saints while two married ladies, Nasim Begum mother of five children, Batool wife of Rehmat Ali and one unmarried girl Azra attempted to commit suicide in Chichawatni. They were hospitalised in critical condition.

One Shehzadi Kiran(22) committed suicide by taking acid in Sahiwal due to the misbehaviour of her mother in law.

One Muhammad Zahid of Multan was found hanged with the ceiling fan of a primary school in Faisalabad. A 22 year old person committed suicide in Abdullahpur because he was jobless.

An unidentified lady jumped in front of Quetta express in Kot Radha Kishan for suicide. One Tahir (15) student of SSC committed suicide after taking sleeping pills when his father reprimanded him for not qualifying the SSC examination in Daska. Similarly Nadeem (22)committed suicide in Hafizabad.
